About FakeName Generator

FakeName Generator is a free tool that generates complete, realistic-looking but entirely fictional identities — names, addresses, phone numbers, emails and dozens of other fields. It exists for one reason: real work needs realistic placeholder data, and getting it should be instant and free.

Who it's for
Developers and QA engineers use it to fill test environments and seed databases. Designers use it to populate mockups and demos with believable content. Privacy-conscious people use it to avoid handing their real details to every site that asks for more than it needs.
How the generator works
Every identity is produced by a deterministic engine: a seed value is fed through locale-aware name, address and number pools for the country you pick, so the fields of one profile are internally consistent — a German profile gets a German name, a plausible German street format and a +49 phone number. Checksummed fields (credit card numbers, IBANs, VINs, routing numbers) are generated to pass their real checksum algorithms, because test data that fails validation is useless. The same validators that power our free checking tools verify what the generator emits.
How we keep it safe
- Names, addresses and identifiers are randomly generated and combined so they describe no real person.
- Street addresses pair a real city and a postal code that genuinely belongs to it with a randomized street name and house number, so the record validates correctly yet resolves to no real residence. Our data & methodology page sets out field by field which parts are real and which are invented.
- ID fields are masked test placeholders drawn from never-issued ranges, and card numbers come from published sandbox test ranges — the data can fill forms without charging a real account or matching a real person.

How the site is funded
FakeName Generator is free to use, with no account and no paywall. The site is supported by advertising and clearly-marked affiliate links to relevant privacy and security products. Advertising never changes what the generator produces, and our Privacy Policy explains exactly what runs in your browser and the consent choices you have.
